I discovered today a newly created Code of Conduct for designers. The purpose of this code is to unite the ethical practices and promote the betterment of design practices within the creative industry. The code is maintained and updated by The Academy of Design Professionals.

The Code is comprehensive and extremely informative. It is a great standard that any professional designer should be following regardless of the medium they work in. These are the kinds of things that will help clients learn the difference between a professional and  the kid down the street. Not to say the kid isn’t talented. But he might not offer the highest quality of service.

I am extremely proud to pledge to observe the canons, uphold the ethical standards and adhere to the rules of conduct outlined therein.
