The Next Digital Evolution

In today’s world, technology is changing faster than grass grows. But what is the next big evolution in how we connect and use technology? We’ve seen thousands of examples of what technology will eventually be able to do. We’ve seen examples of holograms, visors, touchscreens and the list just seems to go on. But what seems to be the next big evolution will be 3D computers. Over the past year or so, we’ve seen a huge raise in number of 3D movies. In fact, it seems like just about every movie out there is 3D these days. In fact, I think it won’t be long before we see this our TV’s and on our computer screens. But I will be honest, I’m not the first to think about this.

Designer Tai Chiem has already started to toy around with the idea. Apple is rumored to be already developing the next generation of MacBooks with implemented 3D technology. Will this be the start of our digital evolution into what we see in the movies where we don’t even need screens.

How will this change how we create advertising? How will it change how we connect and interact with others? Will video and vidcasts become our main source of content on the internet instead of text based blogs? We’ve already seen a large shift from text based blogs to these video blogs but will it become the mainstream function? It’s hard to say. Finally, how will this change the way we interact on social networks and share information with others? It’s going to be an exciting new future. It will be exciting to see how this will change web design and development. So when will Apple announce the MacBook 3D? That is for all of us to guess at. But I’m sure that it is the next big thing that Steve Jobs is thinking about. Just how long will we have to wait?
